DIY Pop Letters Washi Tape Cards
Looking for another card design to add to your repertoire?
Here's a simple way to make notecards with a little extra POP of fun! Lightweight wooden letters covered in washi tape add dimension to the front of your cards. And they're pretty darn cute too - if I do say myself.
I snagged a set of wooden letters for a steal when we were out and about last weekend. I wasn't quite sure what to do with them, but thought they might be cute with a little washi love. Because what isn't, right?!!
Start by applying strips of tape to the front of your letters. You want to line up the pattern (if possible) without overlapping strips. Then flip the letter over and cut out with a craft knife.
You'll need a nice sharp knife and a steady hand to get into close corners. Mine look a little rough around the edges but they're still cute!
Once your letter(s) is all cut out, it's time to glue it to the front of your card.
If you're into lots of colour and pattern, try a simple monogram on a not-so-simple striped background.
Or try a sweet (but bold) message on a plain background.
Either way, I hope you're inspired to reach out and say "Hi" to someone with a little snail mail!
Have you ever tried adding wooden or other dimensional elements to your homemade cards?
Any suggestions for other ways to use washi-covered wooden letters?
Sent or received any pretty mail lately?
I'd love to hear all about it in the comments!
Send Pretty Mail #46/47 - Confetti Mail

Washi tape bow stickers (find the secret to making your own here) and sequins are fast friends!
Dug into my pretty stationery stash (do you have one too?) and picked out these lovely cards from illustrator Erica Sharp.

Wrap It With Sequins

Try wrapping a few lines of trim around the box on one side. Secure on the bottom - I used a dab of hot glue, it's not the prettiest under there, but those sequins aren't going anywhere! Alternatively, if you can get your hands on slim double-sided tape, I think that would be a great sticky solution.

Or why not glue loose sequins all over your wrapped box and top with an adorable confetti bow. Look for the secret to making your very own confetti bows in our next DIY project! I think this one is my favourite - it's just so fun!

Wrap It With Washi Tape & Kirigami Flowers
I was wrapping up some goodies to send to a far-away friend and thought I'd share this wrapping idea with you. Combining classic kraft with washi tape and a little kirigami - it's a unique but simple way to wrap it pretty!
Gather your gifts to be wrapped - in this case, I went with a peach-y theme based around a lovely gauze summer scarf from Hettle & a hand knit dishcloth and rounded out with some summer fruit lip balm and peach gum.
1. You'll need - kraft paper bag, 7.5cm / 3" origami paper, scissors, washi tape.
2. Place item to be wrapped inside paper bag. Fold top down towards the back of the bag - folding twice to make a nice straight edge. Secure with piece of washi tape.
3. Wrap washi tape around bag. You don't need to wrap the tape all the way around, I only wrapped the tape about an inch or so onto the back of the bag. The super slim tapes are perfect for layering and adding an extra bit of interest to your wrapping. Want to stop here? Your washi tape wrapping will look fantastic with or without the kirigami component!
4. Create your kirigami paper cut. For instructions on how to create your own kirigami flowers, this is a great place to start.

Wrap It With A Washi Tape Rosette

Do you wrap with washi tape? Here's a gift I wrapped up over the weekend, using washi tape in place of ribbon and topped with an extra special washi tape rosette. Get the directions for making your own washi tape rosette here. Why extra special? Well, I made this one extra large and added two layers of pleated tape for extra oomph!
Happy wrapping!
