For the second year in a row, I decided to take part in a Handmade Valentine Swap. A mail swap is a fun way to stretch your creative muscles as well as a great opportunity to send and receive some pretty mail.
Anyway, I was packing up a couple of love garlands to send out, but couldn't let those big blank envelopes out the door without a little love of their own!
Washi tape letters over top of a simple tape heart. To create letters out of tape, first lay strips of tape onto parchment or waxed paper, then cut. This can take some practice, but it's a fun skill to have.
A little gold outlining for extra oomph. It can take a little trial and error to find pens and markers which work with washi tape, but I do like the added touch of ink every now and then.
Heart shaped cards made from a combo of washi tape and card stock are perfect for adding a sweet note (and oh-so-simple to create).
Finished off with a little back-of-the envelope accent.
Have you taken part in any mail swaps? How was the experience?
