Helping Japan

I'm struggling today.  I want so much to have an answer, a plan, a direction.  To, both as an individual and a business,  know how to help the people of Japan.  But I feel like I'm drowning under too much information and not enough at the same time.  This article helped me a bit - all about how the relief effort is organized.  And this article got me thinking - about waiting a bit before donating.

So that's my plan.  To wait.  To see.  To know more before contributing.

If you'd like to get involved now - here are some suggestions. (I've asked also friends in Japan to pass on recommendations for Japan-based relief organizations and will let you know what we discover in the coming days.)

• Donate directly to Red Cross Japan via Google
• Lovely independent businesses donating 50% of profits to the relief effort - Snap + Tumble, Heartfish Press, Oktak 
• Send Socks to Japan - while the best idea is to send money, not goods, this is a neat initiative
