DIY: Origami Lotus

Lotus Flower - Seen Objects

The lotus flower is not only beautiful, it also holds great symbolic power.

In Japan, it is sometimes said that the lotus represents overcoming a great struggle.  The flower begins very small at the bottom of a dark and muddy pond.  It must grow upwards, through the muck - the darkness, to reach the surface - the light.  Once it reaches the surface of the water, the lotus blossoms into a simply gorgeous flower.
