The Kirigami Project - Week 16* - Easter Eggs

*My internal calendar went a bit haywire while planning April's designs and this one was originally scheduled for the Tuesday AFTER Easter. So we're jumping ahead to week 16 and then we'll jump back to week 15 next week.

Designed to look like striped Easter eggs around a flower, I think it's a fun seasonal project to try but also subtle enough that you could make it at any point during the year.

The final design actually reminds me of something else entirely ... though I can't quite put my finger on it. An electric fan? What do you see?

To create your own Easter-inspired kirigami, use the template above and the 6-point folding pattern.

Happy crafting!

The Kirigami Project is a collaborative creative project from Marisa Edghill of Omiyage and Geri Jewitt of The Languid Lion. Marisa creates the kirigami designs and Geri whips them into template shape! Each week In 2014, we will bring you a new kirigami design to fold and cut.

  1. Thank you for another outstanding design. I like the abstract qualities of this one. It reminds me of some imaginary exotic fruit. The design also makes me think of simplified abstract bees, perhaps coming to investigate the flower in the center.

    1. Thanks so much Justine! I love the bees around a flower idea - I can totally see it! (They just need some chunky antennae!)
