DIY Inspiration: Japanese Temari

Okay, okay - it's only October - but I have a bit of a Christmas project for you today.  Ever since lovely Temari balls popped up on Cafe Cartolina, I haven't been able to stop thinking about them.  More importantly, I haven't been able to stop thinking about Temari Christmas ornaments!

Now you're thinking about them too - aren't you?

That's why I thought you should have plenty of notice - this is one craft project that takes time and patience and who has that when December rolls around?

Not sure where to start?  Here's a great step by step tutorial on Temari.com or you can visit TemariKai for inspiration, tips and more.

  1. Oh wow, these are so cool! I definitely don't have the patience for these though (plus I have cats = disaster). The paper crane wedding looks a little more do-able.

So glad I found this blog! :)

  2. Funny I had already been thinking about them. I even have some polystyrene balls I intend to wrap rather than use lots of string. Just need to get around to it.
