My absolute favorite piece of mail was a scrapbook from my mom. It was the sweetest surprise ever.
ReplyDeleteI mailed myself a wedding invitation when my husband and I got married thirteen years ago. It was such a thrill to see that envelope arrive in my mailbox, made it seem so real!!!
ReplyDeleteThe best piece of mail I received was from my Pen Pal Amy last March for my birthday. I had broken one ankle and sprained the other and she sent me this yummy construction paper envelope with all these vintage prints all over it. I was so thrilled!! I didn't want to open it at first...I wanted to savor it!!
ReplyDeleteThe best pieces of mail I sent recently were handmade thank you cards after Christmas. My boyfriend carved an antler stamp and I stamped the front of the cards. Everyone who received one called/emailed and said how much they loved them. It's so fun to send mail, especially when people share their reaction with you!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend and I were in a long-distance relationship for a while; the first time he told me he loved me was in a letter.

Every year we receive a thank you note from our nieces for their Christmas gifts. It's like a time capsule of their penmanship and grace as they grow. Sweet, simple and so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI never got or sent any mails before...but since 5 months ago my mailbox filled with a lot of mails and postcards...all the best I think, because every pieces is unique! The postcard from around the world, lovely letters with extras nice stickers and else. I do try hard to make everyone who receive from me also feel the same >_<
ReplyDelete(Way) Back in high school, my best friend who had moved to the province prompting our trips to the post office. The best mail I got was in Sophomore year - I received a Manila envelope full of letters she had accumulated and sent in one go... to my school! I was so excited I shrieked. Good thing the teacher didn't mind. :) I promised myself I'd write more this year (and send some actual snail mail) so this would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was about 9 years old I belonged to two stamp collecting clubs and received envelopes with a variety of stamp sets to buy... it was the highlight of my day when they arrived!!

ReplyDeleteI received a package containing toys that I had ordered for my son just before Christmas and it was so beautifully decorated...such a nice suprise! They had used craft paper, tied some neon yellow string around and stuck an assortment of sticker dots and washi tape over it. It was do nice to receive something so lovingly packaged and it saved me wrapping it to give to my son, too! Happy days :-).
ReplyDeleteI learned the value of postcard writing from my fiance. Since then, wherever each of us find ourselves in this wonderful world, we make it a point to send postcards to family and friends and to each other :)

ReplyDeleteI can still remember getting a "secret" valentine in the mail as a young child. I felt so special. I think my Aunt sent it!
ReplyDeleteJust before christmas, my best friend sent me an envelope she'd stapled together of a drawing her two-year-old had made... So cute! Inside was a card with matching toddler doodles, and a brooch with a picture of a cat with a mustache- that really made my day :)
ReplyDeleteThe best mail for me are unexpected ones. Yesterday, for example, was a long, cold day for me. And I came home to a wonderful little surprise in my mailbox from Texas. :) Thank you for the giveaway! It's a joy to follow you on instagram and see all the cute paper goodies.

One very sweet memory mailwise I have is that every year for new year's my husbands's aunt send really tiny postcards to both my girls by mail, considering she lives really close to us is a very sweet detail and my girls love the letters with their names on them!

ReplyDeleteDear Omiyage,
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for the giveaway, you're so lovely, and I would like to participate!
I can't choose a best piece of mail right now, >_< as for now; every piece are meaningful and BEST to me, with their very own life story and very cute envelope decoration! Love it all! I really appreciated all of them. ♥
♥ Fiona
I just received plenty of nice Christmas cards :) They made me happy!
ReplyDeleteAny mail that I receive that isn't a bill or solicitation is good mail! I do like sending letters which are pamphlet books with a variety of small, handmade envelopes inside of them. Each envelope is numbered, so the recipient must open the envelopes in order to read my news.
ReplyDeletePer fortuna sono ancora in tempo... avevo pubblicato sul blog ma non inserito il commento... partecipo!
ReplyDeleteThe best mail I receive is (predictably) from my kids - a picture or note scrawled on the back of a school paper or random junk mail envelope; the message generally something along the lines of MommyRowanGriffinDaddycarlovexoxoIyou - most often letters stacked and circling. I prop these lovelies up on my cook book stand where they cheer me on as I make supper.....
ReplyDeleteThe best mail I received came about 20 years ago when I was a student. My mom had recently died and one day a surprise package arrived from my brother, who's not the best in keeping in touch. It contained the Enigma cd "Return to Innocence". I put it on repeat and cried my eyes out... Still, it gave me such a warm feeling!

Sounds great! I've received a lot of wonderful letters in my life. My current favorite is the one I just got from my grandmother -- she's almost 90 years old, her health is failing and we only share a second language. Still, she managed to send a 4-page letter to me written in her late 19th/early 20th century cursive ..... in French. Incredible.
ReplyDeleteThe best mail that I get/give is always the personal handwritten ones from/to my Nana. In this day & age where everyone sends things electronically, it is still nice to get something handwritten!
ReplyDeleteThe best mail that I sent was last year to my lovely boyfriend. He's the best thing that ever happened to me, and he's always there for me, even though life has been hard on him as well, having chronic headaches, study delays and his mother dying of cancer 1,5 year ago.
ReplyDeleteHe was studying hard for some exams and I sent him a small package with a card with meerkats (he loves those!), a bar of chocolate and some confetti, telling him in the card how much I loved him and that I was very proud of how he did his best.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite piece of mail I've ever received was from my Great Aunt Evelyn, when I was 9 years old. It was a card to commemorate my first communion. I felt so loved and celebrated. :)
ReplyDeleteOh these items are SO pretty! Why can't my mailbox always have lovely stuff like this in it....instead of bills!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite piece of mail? Any one of the swap packages I received (and sent). :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of snail mail. I have an entire category on my blog of fun mail I've sent out including: a box of sunshine, color themed care packages, boxes of candy with just a label and stamps on them, giant easter eggs with labels and stamps on them, holiday care packages, a hug in a box, a box of my favorite things, and I just mailed off a box of all things pink to my best friend who just found out she's having a girl! I'd love to make pretty mail with this prize! http://sometimescreative.blogspot.com/search/label/Fun%20Mail%20%2F%20Packages
