Celebrating Girl's Day

Japan Journal

March 3rd is Hina Matsuri in Japan, otherwise known as the Doll Festival or Girl's Day. A traditional Japanese festival in which families wish for long, prosperous and happy lives for their daughters. It's marked by displays of beautiful traditional dolls, special foods and lots of pink and prettiness! Why not celebrate this weekend?

Spend a little time folding Japanese paper dolls and crafting sakura kirigami.

Or whip up some chirashizushi and satisfy your sweet tooth with sakura mochi.
